In the framework of the regional initiative to train civil society on reviewing and supporting the UNCAC a training was organized for non-governmental actors in Tunisia in cooperation with the Tunisian Alliance for Integrity and Transparency and in coordination with INLUCC to train them on reviewing and supporting the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), especially as the review mechanism moves to the second phase covering chapter II: prevention and V: asset recovery.
The workshop opened with presentations and discussions on the UNCAC and in depth reading of selected provisions, it was followed by presentations and discussions on the review mechanism and what Tunisia has done in relation to the first phase 2010-2015 and in preparation of the second phase 2016-2021 both on the governmental and civil society levels. It was preceded by two similar trainings in Jordan August, 8 and Lebanon on August, 18.
