The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum:The role of youth in poverty eradication and promoting prosperity in a changing the world will provide a platform for youth to engage in a dialogue with Member States and share ideas on innovation, collective action and solutions to global problems. It will also address the concept of “shared prosperity”, which is at the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The forum will bring youth leaders from around the world to the UN Headquarters in New York. It will also give them the opportunity to engage with policy-makers and other youth delegates and representatives.
The Youth Leadership Programme II delegation this year is composed of twelve young women and men, representing seven different Arab countries —namely Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Tunisia and the UAE. A breakout session dedicated to the Arab States on will be held on 31Jan to provide a platform for the youth from the region and partners to discuss their role in achieving SDGs and to showcase the solutions or products that they may have developed including through the YLP programme.
