PVE is a maturing field of development and recent years have seen a substantial increase in both research and programming on for PVE, but whilst a community of practice on prevention is forming, more efforts should be made to create opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange - to share new data, research and lessons from the field on what works in preventing violent extremism. Through the Amman Forum, UNDP aims to bring research and M&E decidedly to the forefront of discussions by creating such an opportunity for experts, academics and practitioners to share evidence, experiences and learning.
Beyond sharing research designs, methodologies and findings on PVE across the globe, the aim of this conference is to improve the quality of future research and the applicability of its findings. The Amman Forum aims to circle the most pressing conceptual, financial and capacity related problems and bottlenecks for studying and assessing PVE, and what can be done to overcome them.
