Organized by: UNDP- ACIAC, in partnership with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and in cooperation with the National Authority for Probity Prevention and Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC)

The regional workshop informed participants about the latest innovations in corruption prevention and their successful applications in the Arab region and the world, including Italy, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Korea, and enabled them to discuss ways to benefit from these innovations in related country and regional efforts in the region. Among the innovations that were highlighted are management of corruption risks, behavioral insights, use of technology, social accountability, collective action, and corruption proofing of legal texts.
The workshop concluded with the elaboration of ten main recommendations, including: to prioritize the completion of the legislative framework for preventing corruption according to the UN Convention against Corruption; to invest in new technologies to enhance transparency, especially in the areas of public procurement, government support and financial disclosure; and to integrate corruption risk management at the sectoral level, based on the successful experiences in this field, such as the Tunisian experience in the health sector, where corruption risks management led to
The recommendations also highlighted the importance of using behavioral insights to promote public integrity and to strengthen the relationship between the state and its citizens, and taking advantage of the methodologies on corruption proofing of legal texts that were developed in a number of countries around the world, including in Korea and Eastern Europe.
Participants also agreed on the necessity of creating a regional electronic platform within the framework of the Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network (ACINET) in order to exchange experiences in innovation, document success stories according to specific criteria to be agreed upon, and continue the discussion about ways to stimulate innovation in the field of corruption prevention .
The workshop was attended by more than 50 officials from Jordan, Tunisia, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, and Morocco including representatives of governments anti-corruption agencies and civil society, in addition to specialized experts from the region and from partner countries and organizations.
