Overview
Beirut - Lebanon
The Arab Knowledge Project (AKP) is a partnership between the UNDP and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Project underwent major changes by late 2014 and early 2015. The Arab Knowledge Report series was concluded with the release of the third Arab Knowledge Report, and a new phase of the project -and the partnership- started with the announcement of the Arab Knowledge Index and the Arab Knowledge Portal, Knowledge4all. This was officially embraced in the new partnership agreement that was officially signed in November 2015, extending the partnership for five additional years [2016-2020].

The launch took place on December 7-9 in Dubai, during the Knowledge Summit that was attended by more than 1000 invitees, led by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

During 2016, the AKP is planning to develop the Arab Knowledge Index 2015 and launch its 2016 version by the end of the year. For this aim, the AKP will start by holding the first Core Team meeting that will allow experts to brainstorm ways to develop the Arab Knowledge Index, in addition to discussing the possibility of the Index to include non-Arab countries and adding new themes or altering the variables of the existing themes.
