Within the framework of the National Strategy for Good Governance and Anti-Corruption and its Plan of Action for the period 2017-2018, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (INLUCC) adopted in Goal 1/ Second Strategic Initiative the development of sectoral action programs through the establishment of "integrity islands" at the sectoral level to reduce risks of corruption in priority sectors: municipalities, police and the health sector.
The Health Integrity Initiative seeks to improve health care services, reduce costs and enhance patients’ confidence in the hospitals. A national task force was then created to take on the assessments corruption risks in the health sector focusing on the supply chain of medicine and health care services.
