The training is organized for non-governmental actors in Lebanon, including civil society organizations, and business associations.
The aim is to train them on reviewing and supporting the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), especially as the review mechanism moves to the second phase covering chapter II (prevention) and V (asset recovery), both of which are particularly relevant to civil society across the region.
The workshop will open with presentations and discussions on the UNCAC and in depth reading of selected provisions, it will be followed by presentations and discussions on the review mechanism and what Lebanon has done in relation to the first phase (2010-2015) and in preparation of the second phase (2016-2021).
This workshop comes as a follow-up to the recommendations of the last ACINET nongovernmental group meeting that was held in Amman (12-13 July, 2017).
