The aim of this Regional Meeting is to discuss National Reporting Platforms within the SDGs framework in order to proceed with further developing the National Platform for Monitoring and Reporting on Sustainable Development Goals on the sidelines of the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development, which will be held on 24-26 April in Beirut (Lebanon), organized by ESCWA.
The 2030 Sustainable Development Plan stresses the importance of adopting a national and comprehensive framework incorporating effective, transparent and integrated follow-up, to raise the general debate about development, united efforts and enhancing accountability at the national, regional and global levels.
As part of its mission to make high quality data accessible to a wide range of interested parties, the Arab Development Gateway has organized a series of training workshops to strengthen the national capacities of statistical offices in order to improve and expand the dissemination of official statistics within the Arab Region.
